Jennifer A. Johnson is a Member of Lyons Law Group, LLC with over 25 years of experience in estate planning, special needs planning, charitable planning, business succession planning, and probate and trust administration. She represents individuals and families across all income levels.

Jennifer’s practice centers designing and implementing a custom estate plan for each client – selecting the right tools for each unique situation. Jennifer frequently works with revocable and irrevocable trusts, generational planning strategies, irrevocable insurance trusts, limited liability companies, qualified personal residence trusts, grantor retained annuity trusts, charitable trusts, and private foundations. Jennifer also handles all aspects of guardianship, probate, and estate and trust administration, including funding and liquidity issues, estate and gift tax return preparation and succession planning for beneficiaries.

Prior to joining the firm, Jennifer practiced at Quarles & Brady, LLP, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where she focused on multi-generational estate and closely held business planning, and continued to develop her practice at Huck Bouma, PC in Wheaton, Illinois.

Jennifer has spoken on estate planning, including international estate planning, special needs planning, and Section 529 college savings plans. She has presented at the Kane County Bar Association, the DuPage County Bar Association, the Annual Wisconsin State Bar Tax School, the Wisconsin Institute of Certified Public Accountants Annual Tax Conference, the Financial Planners Association’s Financial Planning Symposium, and the Association of Women Lawyer’s Luncheon Seminar Series.

Jennifer is also a published author on several Illinois Institute for Continuing Legal Education (IICLE) publications. She co-authored the 2023 Edition of Everyday Mistakes in Estate Planning, and the “Handling Charitable Bequests and Charitable Trusts” chapter in the 2019, 2022, and 2026 Editions of Estate Administration Fundamentals — reflecting her depth of knowledge and ongoing commitment to the legal community.

Jennifer lives in South Elgin with her family. She spends her free time knitting, hiking, kayaking and enjoying time with loved ones.
